Quarter of the way through the summer running and we have seen
some start by the team. If you have not started, yet I cannot emphasize
the importance of running over the summer. Start by being consistent,
try for 15-20 miles in one week, and then do it again the next week. As
you get some consistent miles you could increase to 20-25 miles for some of the
older kids try to be at 30 miles at the end of the summer. Running as a
group helps getting motivated. Try getting to the captains practice,
those in-charge have been instructed to make sure that this is catered to the
younger group and they will do their work out after words. We have big
goals as a team at the end of the season. In addition, if we get the
summer mileage of 9000 as a team we get these awesome socks.
As of today when I am writing this we have
486.8 miles from 16 runners that have reported. Last year we had 691.7
from 18 runners at the same point. If you have miles to report please do,
I have figured out a way to keep you up-to-date on your miles. It can be
found on the app (Weekly Update) or on the blog as the mileage update. I am trying to update that every
other day. So you should have a really good idea where you stand.
Get Out and Run.
