Parents night + a few things

We have hit the ground running the first two weeks of Cross-country and your children are impressing us with their talent, thoughtfulness, and good nature.  We have climbed hills, ate watermelon, run distances we have never run before, nurtured new friendships, competed in a triathlon, gone to the pool, lifted weights, done some yoga, and were treated to ice cream.  It has been a busy and exhausting first two weeks.

That brings me to the point of this message.  Next Monday the 31st of August is our annual Parents Night BBQ.  It will begin at 6 pm in the high school commons and last an hour and a half.  You are invited so that we can recognize the important role you play in supporting the cross-country program.  Please bring your family and enjoy a great meal and the short program.

Second, on Monday the 31st of August we will also be taking team pictures before practice.  Your child should come at 2:30 pm to practice with their uniform so we can accomplish this.  There are forms being sent home with the kids this week so ask if they have them.

Thirdly, our next competition will be held at Mankato East high school on Tuesday the 1st beginning with the junior high race at 4 pm boys and girls high schoolers to follow.

The End is a Beginning

Some last minute things that we should bring to your attention.
  • First, practice starts on August 17 at 8am meet in the commons ready to run.  If you are unable to attend this or any practice you need contact your contact coach, Girls Coach Schroeder, Boys Coach Pederson.  Communication is key.

  • Second, any and all miles that you have ran over the summer (May 17 till 11:59pm on August 16) need to be reported or turned in to Coach Pederson ASAP.  No matter how little or great your number is we want you to report this or turn in your miles.  Everyone helps towards the team mileage goal so please report those miles from running, biking, and weight room.  If you are unable to be at practice the first week please email Coach Pederson your miles.  We would not want you to be missed when we hand out the stuff you get.

  • Third, PAY YOUR FEES and TURN IN YOUR FORMS.  If this is not done in the first week, you cannot go to the Jamboree on August 24.  This is not our policy but administrations.  If you have a circumstance that delays or prevents you from paying please contact the administration.

Lastly, remember your interview sheets when you have your interview some of you have it Monday after practice.

See you on Monday.
