MINNESOTA HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY COACHES ASSOCIATION
COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP



Scholarship Criteria:

Graduating senior from a MSHSL member school.
Head coach of the Cross Country program must be a current member of the MSHSCA.
A cumulative high school GPA of 3.75 or above, or earning All-State Academic honors in their junior or senior year of Cross Country.
Participated in Cross Country all four years of high school (grades 9 through 12).
No MSHSL violations during high school.
Involved in their local community.
Involved in other school activities.
Submit 3 letters of recommendation from coaches, teachers, advisors and community leaders.
Positive character.
Candidate essay about how the sport of Cross Country has had an impact on their life.
Other contributions made to the sports of Cross Country and Track. (Volunteer opportunities)
Participate in Cross Country and Track at the collegiate level.
Other awards received in Cross Country will be considered.  (Most Valuable, Hardest Worker, etc.)
The check for the scholarship award will be made out and sent to the recipient’s college.

The Minnesota High School Cross Country Association Scholarship application from will be posted on the Cross Country page of the MSHSCA website January 1, 2016.  The 2015/16 application deadline will be May 1st, 2016.


Amount of Award:

4 - $500.00 awards.  One boy and one girl for each class A and AA.

This is a one time scholarship.
