Mankato East

The first meet of 2016 was run at Mankato East.  It was mostly a nice day however the course was soggy.  The junior high runners competed first and looked very good with the boys placing 2nd out of 5 teams and the girls placing 1st.  The Junior Varsity boys were second and girls were first with a perfect score of 15.  In the varsity race the girls with 27 points beat Mankato East's 41 points and the boys scored 40 to Mankato East's 43.  It was an excellent showing for our first race of the year.  Complete results may be found here.

Leading the way for the girls junior high was 7th grader Malina Koepp covering the 2500 meter course in 11:09.  For the boys junior high seventh grader Adam Stiemke led the way with a time of 11:41.  In the junior varsity race Thea Iverson, grade 11 led the way for the girls in 26:41 and junior Luke Hallgren finished in 22:05 to pace the boys.  Freshmen Emily Berger led the girls squad with a time of 23:27 while senior Kellen Bergs led the boys in a time of 18:43.

2016 Captains

Thank all that showed up to the annual parents night BBQ.  It was a great opportunity to thank all the parents for the support they offer to the Belle Plaine Cross-country program.  If you missed the BBQ you should have your runner pick up a yard sign.

It is tradition for our team captains to be voted on by their teammates after the first two weeks of practice and we revealed this years choices.  Once again their teammates made excellent choices electing Emily Krautkremer, Hailey Witt, Thea Iverson, and Alexa Lenz on the girls side and Nate Loegering, John Morrison, Hayden Cody, Kellen Bergs, and Kyle Siemon on the boys side.  Congratulations Captains!
