NYA results

Last Tuesday was another good showing by the Belle Plaine Tiger cross-country team.  The boys JV defended their title from last year and remain undefeated this season.  In fact they have beat every single A school they have run against since the 2013 season.  The girls and boys Varsity were both 2nd place, girls behind Holy Family Catholic and boys behind double A Mound-Westonka.  The girls JV was second as were the JH girls and the boys JH finished 11th.  As a complete squad Belle Plaine by far out performed all the other teams.

We are very pleased with the progress everyone has been making.  Practices have been going well and the hard work the kids are putting in is reaping some benefits.

The boys JV was led by Taylor Witt (3rd), he was followed closely by Jack Otto (5th), Drew Hastings (7th), Stephen LaJeunuesse (10th) and Noah Hastings (13th).  Derek May (14th) and Nate Loegering (17th) rounded out the scoring for the JV.  28 Belle Plaine boys ran the JV race Tuesday with several running PR's on the warm windy day.

Boys varsity were once again led by Kellen Bergs (16th), followed by Elliot Rudd (18th), Kyle Siemon (20th), Dylan Bigaouette (21st) and Sam Gregory (30th).  Carter Corl (40th) and Ben Hunsader (41st) completed the varsity squad.  The boys went after a very tough Mound-Westonka squad and narrowly missed coming out on top.

In the boys JH division Josh Gregory led the way in a new PR of 6:26.  The girls JH was led by Jordyn Williams also in a new PR time of 6:29 for the 1600 meter course.

The girls varsity was led by Emily Berger (7th), she was followed by Cassie Stolt (22nd), McKenna Herrmann (28th), Danika Schroeder (33rd) and Alissa Schultz (42nd).  Sophie Mewes (61st) and Trinity Webb (77th) completed the girls squad.  The girls ran tough against a very good Holy Family squad.

Thea Iverson (12th) led the girls JV squad to a strong 2nd place finish behind Waconia.  Hailey Witt (13th), Hannah Witt (14th), Jamie Zahn (21st) and Kailey Noll (29th) rounded out the scoring for the lady tigers.  Alexa Lenz (48th) and Emma Reed (49th) also competed for the JV squad.  The JV girls continue to perform well.  It is great to have them get the ball rolling at meets.

We will be in action at Crown College Tuesday and again Saturday in Winona.  Check out all the results from NYA Lions Invite at:
